Located within the Kochere woreda, Chelchele washing station produces coffees that are fine examples of the famous Yirgacheffe taste. As with many Ethiopian coffees, these lots are made from the cherries of hundreds of small-holder producers, which are mixed into day lots for processing.

The wet process in Ethiopia varies between stations. Generally, cherries are picked and pulped on the same day, and the mucilaged seeds are fermented in open-air tanks for 12 to 18 hours. The coffee is then washed through water channels to remove residue, and then spread on raised beds to dry.
