^{Ngaari Mwangi is considered by many as a pioneer of industry in this particular region of Kenya. Bucking the trend since 1997, Ngaari’s decision to begin processing his own coffee at his own farm makes him one of the earliest adopters of this practice and a leader in quality ever since. Having a sense of processing control is deeply important for Ngaari as is the location of the Mbuti farm which utilises fresh water from the nearby Kanguri stream to process parchment. Mbuti is located near Njukiini Forest, just on the border between Embu and Kirinyaga, a region that is home to some of Kenya’s most renowned coffee farms. Selectively growing two of the classic Kenya SL varieties, controlling the processing with great attention to detail and Mbuti residing at 1750 meters altitude results in an exceptional cup profile in this 2025 lot.
