This micro-lot was processed at the Huke washing station which is a privately-owned facility located in the Yirgacheffe woreda in Ethiopia. The owner of the Huke station, Mr. Faysel A. Yonis strongly believes that increased rewards for the out-growers should be shared with the growers directly and benefit the entire community. The majority of the families that contribute to this micro-lot farm organically on tiny plots of land, averaging under one hectare in size and sitting between 2000-2200 MASL. The Huke coffee is processed using the natural method. Ethiopian coffee has been processed this way by generations of farmers who have mastered the art of the natural method through centuries of tradition and experience.
Classified as a Grade 1 lot, the Huke Natural has a cup profile that conveys just how much effort has been put into the selection, grading and drying to ensure the very highest quality. The stunning orange blossom note to this coffee sits brilliantly alongside the classic apricot and black cherry characteristics that are widely celebrated from the Yirgacheffe region.
